Health insurance

Currently, I’m in-network with UnitedHealthcare and Aetna. If you are not covered by one of these plans, there are still options for financing through health insurance. I’m partnered with Mentaya, a service that streamlines getting reimbursed for your therapy sessions through out-of-network benefits for a small fee. Please visit mentaya.com for more information. I am also able to generate superbills if you would prefer submitting documents to insurance on your own.

sliding scale

If you are not using insurance, my fees for sessions are on a sliding scale basis per 50-minute session. We will determine your fee together before our first session. Please read the following criteria and determine which price is appropriate for you:

  • $150 Individual/$200 Couple: You have access to steady income and are working to build personal savings. You do NOT struggle to meet basic needs such as food, shelter, medical care, child care, etc. Making this investment might mean you have to cut back on some discretionary spending in your life (such as buying coffee, getting a new outfit, etc.), but the sacrifice is short-term, and will not harm you in the long term. By agreeing to this price, you are “paying it forward” and supporting accessible services to others.

  • $90 Individual/$140 Couple: You have access to basic needs such as food, housing, and childcare, though sometimes it may feel difficult. You may be living paycheck to paycheck, without much left over for savings.

Reflecting openly about your financial situation and paying at a level you can afford helps to grow a healthy and sustainable community. If none of these descriptions reflect your current situation, or if you have been unemployed for a period of time, please contact me. You may also refer to this list of low-cost services.

good faith estimates

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask me for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
